Nicholas Hill - Chief ExecutiveNicholas Hill - Chief Executive
Chief Executive Nicholas Hill spearheads SPARC. Born in South Africa, he moved as a child to the UK and then immigrated to New Zealand in 1975. For the past 10 years, he has worked at a senior level within the energy sector - most recently as a consultant adviser to Santos Ltd in Adelaide and general manager, commercial (NZ) of Fletcher Challenge Energy. Prior to that he worked for ECNZ. He was also an economic and financial analyst for a number of years with Treasury. Mr Hill has degrees in law and arts. He played rugby for Otago University U20, and plays tennis, touch and golf socially. He enjoys walking and tramping with his family. He was a founder member of and guitarist for Backdoor Blues Band. Mr Hill attended High School in Hamilton. He is married to Ann and has four children.

Katie  Sadleir - General Manager, NZASKatie Sadleir - General Manager, Performance
Katie has joined Sport and Recreation as General Manager of the New Zealand Academy of Sport - the high performance arm of the organisation. Katie has 11 years experience in the sports sector following a diploma in Parks and Recreation and an MA in Leisure in Recreation at Victoria. She has a strong background in high performance sport having competed at the 1984 Olympic Games and the 1986 Commonwealth Games. She also travelled to Canada as Assistant Chef de Mission in 1994.

Deb Hurdle - Acting General Manager, Physical Recreation Deb Hurdle - General Manager, Participation
Deb has had 8 years experience in the sector having moved from a legal background to take up a position with the Hillary Commission working closely with territorial authorities and outdoor recreation organisations. Deb manages the Push Play awareness campaign and prior to taking up the position as General Manager was Senior Advisor Environment with SPARC. Her sporting history includes rowing and triathlons, although now chooses to Push Play by walking up to two hours a day.

Tom Robinson - General Manager Corporate Services Tom Robinson - General Manager, Corporate Services
Tom has a background with a variety of Public Sector entities in accounting, advisory and management roles. Most recently he was General Manager Finance for The Institute of Environmental Science and Research. Tom has a BBS and is a Chartered Accountant. He is a 4th Dan Black belt in Tae Kwon do and was twice National Featherweight Champion.

Paul Marriott-Lloyd - Chief Policy Advisor Paul Marriott-Lloyd - Chief Policy Advisor
Paul has worked in a variety of policy roles in the public sector and local government. Most recently he worked as Senior Policy Advisor with the New Zealand Police. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Classical Studies and Political Science/International Relations, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Health Studies, and a Master of International Relations. Paul's sporting interests include playing golf, football, cricket, and dabbling in short-course triathlons.
