Young people's sport:
- is one of four priority areas for Hillary Commission services and funding
- aims to allow young people to develop skills and positive attitudes through involvement in sport and active leisure
- includes KiwiSport and Sportfit, Fairplay, training and leadership programmes, and many other opportunities for young people to be involved in fun, challenging and rewarding sporting experiences.
In 1997, Moving Through Sport, the Hillary Commission Junior Sport Policy (72K) was put into place. It enables parents, coaches, schools and sports clubs to make sport the best it can be for young people.
